JClub Catholic Book Fair: the Pauline solution for Catholic educators who want to provide good Catholic content to their students!

JClub Celebrates National Catholic Schools Week!

JClub Celebrates National Catholic Schools Week!

Since 1974, the National Catholic Schools Week is the annual celebration of Catholic education in the United States. It starts the last Sunday in January and runs all week, so this year it’s January 29th through February 4th. This year’s theme is “Catholic Schools: Communities of Faith, Knowledge, and Service.”

Why not celebrate Catholic Schools Week and join us on the JClub journey today?

We believe that part of a great Catholic education is great Catholic reading materials, books that help kids grow in faith, develop a Catholic identity, and form Christian character. Selections that we bring to schools include fiction, biographies, Bible stories (even Bible time-travel!), and stories of the saints’ lives, as well as DVDs and CDs.

JClub Book Fairs (where the J is for Jesus!) support Catholic education through providing quality Catholic reading materials to schools. We offer full book fairs, DIY book fairs, and mini book fairs so that every school can get just what it needs from the resources of Pauline Books & Media.

We also publish a JClub magazine, filled with fun facts, puzzles, author interviews, book excerpts, and more. We can arrange for author visits to schools and we also offer a lot of resources for parents, teachers, and librarians. It’s all part of the media outreach that is the apostolate of the Daughters of St. Paul.

This year’s Catholic Schools Week Themes:

Sunday: Celebrating the parish

Catholic schools benefit all year long from the religious guidance, prayers and support parishes provide.

Monday: Celebrating the community

A central aspect of Catholic education is learning the importance of service to others. When students take part in service activities—both local and beyond—they demonstrate the values and faith they gain through their Catholic education and learn how to make the world a better place.

Tuesday: Celebrating students

Schools celebrate students during National Catholic Schools Week by planning enjoyable and meaningful activities for them and recognizing their accomplishments.

Wednesday: Celebrating the nation

On National Appreciation Day for Catholic Schools, students, families, educators and other Catholic school supporters communicate the value of Catholic education to government leaders.

Thursday: Celebrating vocations

By focusing on faith, knowledge and service, Catholic schools prepare children to use their God-given talents to the fullest later in life. National Catholic Schools Week offers an opportunity for students to explore the many life paths that enable them to use their talents well in the service of God and others.

Friday: Celebrating faculty, staff and volunteers

On this day, schools will honor teachers and principals as well as administrators and staff who support them in their important work and thank the parents, grandparents, alumni, parishioners and school board members who provide volunteer service.

Saturday: Celebrating families

Parents, guardians and other family members play a vital role in Catholic education. Not only do they volunteer at the school, they instill values and expectations for academic excellence in their children at home.

So how do we celebrate? Schools typically have special Masses, open houses, and other activities for students, families, parishioners, and community members. Through these events, schools focus on the value Catholic education provides to young people and its contributions to our church, our communities, and our world.
