If you’re looking for a new and unique way to share the true story of Santa Claus with children, you’ve found it! This year Pauline Kids collaborated with author Cornelia Mary Bilinsky and illustrator Candace Camling to release Santa’s Secret Story.
This delightful picture book relates the well-known story of St. Nicholas through the eyes of a young girl whose guardian angel takes her back to the time of St. Nicholas. She watches firsthand as St. Nicholas gives up his wealth to help the poor and secretly aids a father and his three daughters. St. Nicholas himself explains to her the self-gift that Jesus made at Christmas, and tells her why he gives in secret. (For that secret, you’ll have to read the book!)
When I read this book for the first time, I was carried along by the story and the illustrations. You can read more about the author and the illustrator here on the Pauline Kids Blog.
Santa’s Secret Story is a wonderful doorway to talk with children about love and self-giving. Our prayers are with each child—and grown-up—who reads this book during this blessed season.
