Los Angeles Religious Education Congress: Enter the Mystery
Los Angeles Religious Education Congress: Enter the Mystery

From February 22 to 24, nearly 30,000 people gathered in Anaheim, California for the Los Angeles Religious Education Congress. And you guessed it: Pauline Books & Media/Pauline Kids was there, too, with a fantastic display of our books, music, and DVDs.

We had a large section of our children’s books, especially focusing on catechetical resources (like posters, coloring books, prayerbooks, and teacher’s resources) and lives of saints (including our Encounter the Saints series and the brand-new My First Book of Saints). We also featured titles for adults, and a large section of books in Spanish.

A highlight of the congress for us was being able to offer our hot-off-the-press new catechism: Totally Catholic! A Catechism for Kids and Their Parents and Teachers. We completely sold out, and the general consensus was that “Totally Catholic is totally awesome”!

It was my first opportunity to be present at this congress, which takes place every year. It was impressive to see the crowds and crowds of people flocking to the different conferences and addresses. It was beautiful to see them looking for materials to help them in their ministry. And it was humbling to be a part of helping them to form hundreds and thousands of children in the faith. It certainly gives us much to hope and pray for, and we invite you to join us in this. God bless you!

With prayer,
Sr Emily Beata, reporting from Los Angeles
