Ellen Hrkach of Catholic Writers Guild presents the Catholic Arts and Letters Award for YA Fiction to Sr. Martha Moss, FSP who is accepting the award for Pauline Books and Media author Carol A. Grund for her novel Anna Mei: Blessing in Disguise (third in the Trilogy of Anna Mei books).

Anna Mei, Blessing in Disguise and her other two adventures (Anna Mei, Cartoon Girl, and Anna Mei, Escape Artist) follow the life of Anna Mei Anderson, a young girl adopted from China as a baby. She has found a great group of friends after moving from Boston to a small town in Michigan. It's a challenge for her because she has an unusual name, an adoptive family she doesn't even resemble, and a birth mother somewhere back in China. As she struggles to fit in and find herself, Anna Mei discovers that real friendship-and real life-means being true to who she is, sharing challenges, and facing problems together. Appropriate for readers 4th grade and up, Anna Mei, Blessing in Disguise is a great addition to the genre of Catholic fiction.

We are so grateful to the Catholic Writers Guild for recognizing Carol and hear beautiful writing. The CALA is an award for outstanding fiction, and is awarded based on literary merit. And best of all, Anna Mei, Blessing in Disguise has the CWG's Seal of Approval: recognition by a professional organization of a work's authentic and affirming representation of the Catholic faith.

But that's not all, our first ever Pauline Teen book, Mission Libertad by Lizette M. Lantigua was the second of just three finalists for this category! Click on the link to learn more about this great book, which also has the Seal of Approval.
