I fell in love with this project as soon as I saw it. Page after page of Bible stories told in the most appealing and engaging way, paired with artwork that can’t fail to make you smile—who could ask for more in a first Bible for children? From Adam and Eve and Jonah through Easter, all the stories you would want the children in your life to come to know and love are told here in a delightful way. Pages for recording a child’s first milestones and for learning favorite Catholic prayers combine to make this an ideal Baptism gift.

What really sealed the deal for me, though, were the stories of Saint Paul included among the Bible stories. (As a Daughter of St. Paul, it’s not that I’m partial or anything …) It’s no easy feat to make larger-than-life Paul relatable to pint-sized readers, but My Baptism Bible not only introduces the Apostle’s early Church adventures to very young readers, but even introduces us to the downright lovable side of Paul. (He was, after all, very much beloved by the communities he founded. So I think Paul won’t object. :)

Baptism is one of the most sacred moments we celebrate as a Church community. And what better to welcome the child in your life into the life of Christ than with the Word of God. My Baptism Bible will grow with a little one as he or she makes their first steps in learning the beautiful stories of our faith.

Captivating illustrations by Paola Bertolini Grudina (My Christmas Activity Book and The Easter Swallows) and stories by Jan Godfrey (Ten Christmas Sheep and The Road to Christmas Day) that are just begging to be read aloud make this a baptismal gift that will be read and enjoyed over and over.

As you ooh and ahh over these completely lovely Bible stories, don’t forget to check out the stories of Saint Paul!
